Paris to Leadenhall Market – 24 Hour Challenge
This year’s Ride4Life challenge is to ride from the Eiffel Tower to ‘The Lamb’ in Leadenhall Market in 24 hours, arriving appropriately on Friday the 13th.
We aim to get in the saddle at around midday on Thursday the 12th July, pick our way out of Paris and head North West (and gradually uphill) to the port of Dieppe. Assuming we don’t get lost en-route that looks like 110 miles on the bike and 4,400ft of ‘lumps’ to be negotiated.
Sailing at midnight, the team will spend the next four hours stretched out on the floor of the overnight ferry before landing at Newhaven suitably refreshed and ready to jump back on bikes. The Downs & Surrey Hills await!
So there it is 170 miles long and 7,500ft up (give or take a little) with a little sleep depravation rolled in. It’s not meant to be easy.
